Decent price for epoxy finish for a desk?

Hi all

I'm trying to finish a basic pine desk in white epoxy (wife wants it to match son's other furniture) Anyways--where can I get enough white epoxy to finish the desk surface (circa 1200mm x 750mm)? Seems pretty expensive stuff (i.e. more than the wood itself!).

OR--an alternative white finish that would be hard and durable for him to be working at it etc?

Are you looking for epoxy resin or an epoxy based paint?

I've used these people for resin and they have pretty good prices

Epoxies and finishing can be a bit of a bloody nightmare - the classic horror is varnish over not quite entirely cured epoxy resin - this gets you a sticky surface which never (not even in years) sets up hard....


The epoxy based garage floor paints are very hard wearing - but not - like all epoxies - UV stable.
