DC Braking

Hi

Looking to DC brake a couple of 3 phase machines in the workshop. Are Cromptons the only people that sell these DC brakes or are there cheaper alternatives?

I believe the DC brakiing we had fitted to our Startrite sawbench at school was supplied by:-

The unit works well, although did seem a bit aggresive at first. They also gave a good price on a new 352 bandsaw, and a few spare parts needed for the saw. We will use them again.

They do tend to be like that in my experience.

With these being aggressive will over time there be any damage to the machine? Are there any other ways for the machines to be braked? One is a Wadkin PKA sliding carriage table saw and the other a 12" P/T...

I have spoken to ALT saws before about other spares so thanks for the link.
