Another arggh!

I had the accidental pleasure of going to the before-sale day of one of these, once, several years ago when visiting family nearby. I was quite new to the world of old tools then, and didn't really take in what an extraordinary place it was. The auction lots were all on view, where you could pick up and handle these strange things only seen before in photos or engravings, and a huge room full of specialist dealers with everything you could possibly want - it was like an elephants' graveyard of old tools!

And Bill Carter was there too with his extraordinarily lovely creations. I expect you were there too, Andy!

I need to go back but I must go to work in a few minutes...

Cheers, was a nice sale and for those who have never been there is a great atmosphere nowadays with the dealers all in the same room as the sale 8)
A great, new planemaker called Tim Smith was there with some stunning rosewood, boxwood, bogoak, holly and ebony wooden mitre planes as well (yes should have taken pictures #-o )
David Barron was visiting as well so maybe he will mention it on his blog ?

Anyone going to Mac Timbers open day on Sunday?
