Spotted this, this afternoon and thought it looked effective so I cut it out of interest. The original drawing has a parrot in the cat. My attempt at whiskers was a disaster, so I cheated and drew some in. :)

Nice one.
As a matter of interest Steve Good, has posted today, a triple cat face plaque. I will be cutting this one for sure, I may have said before, that most of my projects are given to my sister, to sell in the cats protection shop.

I also like the model steam lorry, Foden or Sentinel ?.

Take care.

Chris, the pattern SG posted today was originally a TrueType Font and I got permission from the creator to use it as a pattern about 3 months ago, though I only cut the right hand cat. https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/tribal-kitteh-t69858.html

The steam lorry is a Sentinel. I have a pattern (made for me by EIEIO on SG's forum) of the Sentinel steam bus at Whitby that I intend cutting when I get some good ply. I already part cut it once but the poor ply meant some of the fragile bits dropped off. EIEIO has since added more bridges. This is the bus. If I make a decent job of it I am going to give it to Vernon, the bus owner.

(I've got a thing about Sentinels.) :)

There was a large steam contracting lorry with an equally large winch I think for forestry work, used to visit the main steam rally in Cornwall, I think that was a Sentinel.

It may be still visiting, as I am no longer able to exhibit at steam rallies, and have passed my engine (Ruston) on to our godson, in trust, for his two sons to become the custodians when they grow up, they are still only babies.

Had a look at the plaque from your link, nicely cut, the plaque I mentioned was similar out line cut but with three cats on the one plaque.

Take care.

Chris, I'd love a stationary engine, preferably a hit and miss, but I've got nowhere to keep one. I did consider building a small one, but i don't think my lathework is accurate enough. My patience is lacking too.

The pattern SG used with three cats is the one I used. It was me who originally created a pattern from the Truetype font. I posted the pattern with three cats on SG's forum a few months back. It's obviously doing the rounds now and SG has picked it up and made a 'proper' scroll saw pattern from it. When I posted it, I hadn't made sure all 3 cats could be cut without bits dropping off. Those soon got pointed out. :D There were some really good examples of that pattern cut and posted on SG's forum.

Martin.

In my post I made an error where I said passed my engine, it should have been engines.

All Ruston’s.

CPR = 6hp. Petrol/Kerosene.
BPR = 4hp. Petrol/Kerosene.
APR = 2.5hp. Petrol/Kerosene.
ZPR = 1.5hp. Petrol only.
All above open crank, throttle governed, which means you cannot get them to run as slow as hit and miss.
This was the full model line up of Ruston, model PR engines.

Also, both enclosed crank.
8BP = 2.5hp. Petrol/Kerosene.
6BP = 1.5hp. Petrol only. This engine was the first of this model to be sold and recorded on Ruston’s sales ledger.
Both enclosed crank.

That equates to a fare amount of metal.
I had a walk in four wheeled trailer, with electric winch for loading, the trailer was plated so if and when I passed a weigh bridge, I would get weighed so if stopped I could demonstrate I was keeping a check on the loading. With the CPR & BPR loaded plus tools, fuel, etc, the trailer would weigh in at 3.75ton. Needless to say it needed fully serviceable hydraulic braking system. :wink:

This time of the year I would be at a rally every weekend, I cannot express how I miss it. :cry:

Take care.

Chris R.

Sorry to all, this has drifted off topic, just a little.

I intend cutting that three cat plaque, pattern and then they will go on sale in the cats protection shop.
So as the originator of the pattern, you will have also done your bit for homeless moggies.

Take care.

Already done that, Chris. All my cats over the years came either from the cats rescue centre or were taken from litters at places I worked at. The last two both lived 20 years.
