I would like to buy a dash cam buit am aware that there is a load of rubbish out there. I looked at a Garmin one and even that had a bad review. Any ideas anyone on a decent one to get.

I got the Transcend 100 Pro and is similar to the 200 pro without the wifi. Works a treat.

Blackvue gets the vote of Discovery 3 and 4 drivers! Loads of the guys have them. Quality is excellent and it's important to be able to read number plates. Also you can watch the video back alongside a map that shows your location at the time.

I just use my GoPro, same one I use on the bike. Takes a 64Gb high compression micro SD card which records about 8 hours of decent quality footage.

I got to PC World, where I aimed to buy the dash cam having seen it on their web site only to find they only had 3 rubbish ones in stock. Went up the road to Halfords and got the Next Base 302G. Tried it out after I got home, simply brilliant.

Does a go pro record your speed and location? The advantage of dash cams is that they can be permanently on. They also save the last 5 mins or so of before any impact is deleted.
