Having huge problems with computer after trying to download either bigspot or gimp last night, (on recommendation) full of stuff popping up even after I delete and running incredibly slow, even to the point that typing this is taking ages, as it can't keep up, and misses spaces and letters.
Might be coincidence, but be careful

GillI am not a expert on computers, but my computer was going very slow my daughter said that I had too much rubbish which I not knowing had tried to download.Sorry to see that Sue had not been able to help with Morgan request.

Also, and so far only on this site, having to fight my way through dozens of little popup thingys headed OKitSpace warning of complete falure, am clicking on red x, frightened to click on ok :(
going t have to vistexpet
I mean going to visit expert

sounds like you have some sort of malware. I'd be surprised it is from GIMP but maybe you have got and version that's been tampered with. Mine came with Mint and it's fine.

I think that you may have downloaded Gimp from the wromg source and have included a lot of other stuff you don't want.
I did much the same when I downloaded Paint.net.
First thing to do is to do a system restore to a time before you did the download.

Thanks guys, phoned a friend and he talked me through a system restore, took it back to Friday, and it has certainly helped. Will take computer out to visit him at weekend and get it back into proper order.
Will think about downloading some sort of system, but have avast antivirus and it has always worked before. Don't think it was virus, just one of these weird download things, so won't download anything else until get some instruction

Agree with Ted Malwarebytes anti-malware is the one to get.
OKitSpace is not the same as a virus it's adware or malware and it's doubtful that your antivirus will prevent it.

Even if you think it's gone it's well worth running Malwarebytes. :)
