Does anyone have one? http://www.qvcuk.com/qvc.product.501265.html?sc=BazaarVoice?featurequestion=1018881#BVQAWidgetID Check the video.

I've had mine for about 15 years, it's one of the early 2 part ones. I can change from white to red paint in about 3 minutes using the same brush, exactly as the guy does in the video above. Brushes are always spotless and dry when I come to use them. It really is as good as it looks. I've just tracked them down again as I'm buying one for my lad who is moving into his first house soon. You need never throw a brush or roller away again when you own one of these.

I am astounded to see negative comments on the reviews. I think the people who can't use the thing should bin their brushes and pay a contractor.

I've got something similar but mine only does brushes and was cheaper than this one.
It is a good item not only does it clean the brushes it also gets rid of all the loose bristles and it is a good idea to use it on a brand new brush before using it.

looks brilliant, I'm one of those that tries to clean under the tap and ends up chucking the brush away. Do you have a link Graham please? (going to googal aswell)

thanks
Gary

Pleasure Mark.

Keep me updated guys when you've tried them.
A couple of tips. If doing a prolonged job it's worth cleaning the brush at half hour intervals as the paint that went into the bristles at the very start will be hard to get out no matter what you use if you leave it too long.
If you use a bucket to spin the brush in make sure it has no debris in the bottom as this gets whisked up in the swirling air and inevitably gets into the brush.
I have found that if I try and spin the brushes in a bin with a bin bag the bag gets drawn in also by the spinning air. A small box or empty bucket is fine, even an empty gallon paint tin, it's only purpose is to catch the spray.

Hi Graham

The Dandy arrived on Monday but between work and replacing our decking I didn't get round to testing it until last night.

For rollers it's fantastic!

With brushes I had a bit of trouble keeping them in the jaws at higher speeds (1500 rpm +) because they would flop to one side or the other with the centrifugal force, despite being carefully clamped centrally and tightened up as much as I dare. The Dandy also seems to have a little wobble to it, which is worsened when a heavy wet brush is stuck in the end.

How do you keep your brushes spinning true?

Cheers,
Mark

That's a shame Mark, they have changed the design since I bought mine. Mine has a spring device at the end that you have to force the brush handle through. It works perfectly 99% of the time, the other odd one off I simply re-fit the brush and it works well again. I am amaized that they would upgrade the design and make it worse. The change was so that the same unit would take the roller and brushes. On mine I have a different gizmo for rollers. have you contacted them? They have been going a long time and I'm sure they would be interested in discussing the problem, maybe there is a fix that isn't so obvious.

Hi Graham

I'll try it again tomorrow and if I still can't make it work I'll contact Dandy and ask them. It's probably just me being stupid!

Cheers,
Mark
