My daughter's passport has just turned up in post. In a passport sized envelope with "Her Majesty's Passport Office" emblazoned across the top, and "THIS IS NOT A CIRCULAR - Important Documents Enclosed"

Identity fraud? What identity fraud? :D

Sounds about right!, And if it got "Lost" in the post, then you'd get a rollicking.
Do We wonder where the script came from for "Yes Minister"

Ours were delivered by courier who photographed property as proof of delivered address.

Previous delivery from HMSO was via postal service but signed for recorded delivery.

Swmbo received our daughter's - she may have had to sign for it, but I don't think so - there's nothing on it to say, and it does say "if wrongly delivered, ring ...". All I was thinking was that there are endless opportunities for it to "go astray" between them and us. I would hesitate to send a fiver through the mail.

Think yourself lucky, Phil. If it had been us and Yodel then the passport would have been slung over the gate at the bottom of our track - right by the roadside. 3/4 a mile away from our property.
