Hi

I know this came up before when someone had railway sleepers to cut. I just cut some huge Oak gate posts down to 1" boards.

I needed to reduce them from 220x220 to 220 x 155 to fit on bandsaw. I used a circular saw set to deepest cut on both sides to start it off (used edge guide that came with saw) and then got one of those cheap reciprocating saws from B&Q and cut the middle bit with that - middle bit took longest by far.

Took about 1/2 hour per post an then 15mins to produce 1" boards on bandsaw

hope this helps someone sometime

Cheers

Tony

Thanks for info. Tony.

I wish we could 'add' certain 'Threads' to a Favorites List to be able to come back to them often instead of trying to search for them ? Perhaps we can ? Or just bookmark the thread link would probably be just as easy....OK I'll go stand in corner :D
