Can anyone recommend a free iOS app or web service for generating a cut list to optimise use of sheet material for projects?

With a CNC metal cutting machine that sort of optimisation is already built in, you give it the item to be cut and how many, it will layout to minimise waste material. I have seen it done with exhaust manifold headers and many types of support bracketry and it is clever.
