Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if these items are effective at sharpening router bits, or just a bit of a gimmick ?

I have one it works fine for a quick touch up and is useful for other jobs as well.

Extremely handy for many small tasks. I use mine (I have several grades) mainly for touching up HSS lathe tooling.
