Hi Guys.

I've been given some seasoned logs and part finished bowls by someone who no longer does wood turning.
Thing is, there are some serious 3-4mm wide cracks in them. Question is, are they safe to use and how do you fill the cracks if I do use them.

Cheers John.

If the cracks are significant then no, they probably aren't safe to turn. Some may suggest filling with glue or resin but you will still end up with a bowl with a crack in it, which doesn't often look good! Personally, I would put them on the firewood pile and turn something that will better reward the time I put into it.
