 Can anyone help please???

I have Windows XP on my desk top. Trying to clear out some old/unused programmes I have delete my 'sound card'.

Any ideas on how I can get it back--stupid I know :| ---Woodman2

turn it off. turn it back on.
it should then automatically - find new hardware device
search web for drivers
install

or manually

control panel
add hardware
add audio device?
either find driver on disc, or in saved files or on web
install

if you know what your sound card is go to the man. web site and download and save the driver file first. then do the manual add hardware as above.

Agreed.
If that doesn't work, turn it all of, physically remove the soundcard, turn it back on. If it is stable, turn it off, insert the soundcard and go from there.

Right click on my computer, manage, device manager, click on the computer symbol at the top of the right hand window then Action from the menu bar at the top, and scan for hardware changes.
It should pick up the missing drivers ands install them for you.
