My 8 year niece has asked me to make a box out of of an old pine bookcase. So I've cut the wood, used dowels to to make the box, sanded the old varnish back to bare wood and put a coat of undercoat that I had in the back of the cupboard.
She would like it painted a light purple/lilac colour. We have a bit of emulsion slightly darker that we could mix with white to try and get the right shade but emulsion may not be hard wearing enough and we are trying to just use what we have in the cupboards, so what would happen if you mixed coloured emulsion to white gloss???

The box is just to store toys and cat litter for the Rag Doll Kitten she is getting next month.

Unless the gloss is water based as well in which case there is a good chance it will work.

Best to try a small cup with both paints in it and give a quick mix. See what you get at little cost.
