After my last burr I did want colour to be added as well as a bit of banter from Ed on another forum I added colour to this one. I just experimented and to be honest I am not sure on it but the wife likes it so I will keep it.
Just for interest it is 7" X 2 1/14" sprayed with spirit stain and finished with Hard wax oil. It is a chestnut Burr
C & C welcome

Ummm-errr-arhh, nope not a fan I'm afraid Derek, as I personally see it the colours are unnatural on a natural form, maybe as burrs have such in-built characteristics of their own I can envision an enhancement of the existing natural colourways to accentuate and add extra contrast.

Thank you Chas for a very honest opinion and as I stated was not sure myself and have to agree with what you said. Until you try you will never know is what I say Well on to the next one still have 5 or 6 more pieces of burr

I quite like it. The colours make it look interesting and mysterious. I'm always amazed when I see pieces of wood that look like they could fall to bits with the faintest of touches, yet still stay together and are able to be turned.
Cracking job !

 some folks just have too much to crow about.

Any chance you can salvage some smaller pieces out of the next turning core or trimmings to form a Goblet Bowl?
I have a vision of you producing one sat on a classical stem and foot to show it off.

Thank you all for the comments.

Will have to see I have saved some slices from the outside which I will use as inserts in some turned boxes very much along the lines of this one

Not sure I like it, but surely it's working in that it's a well turned object that makes people think about it. Will probably be remembered by everyone who sees it.
