In one of my woodworking mags I noticed an extension collet that
used an allen key to lock the router bit in
I cannot find that mag again does anybody know the supplier and has any comments on the collect extension
Many thanks

Trend and Axminster have got them. Some good and bad reports on this gear though around I think.

Hi David,

Sounds like you are referring to the Xtreme Xtension.
This has a hex screw system for holding the cutters, eliminating the need for spanners once fitted.
Be aware that it's only designed for table use though, if you are looking for a system to make quick swaps for normal use, the Eliminator chuck has the same system to hold the cutters.
Both can need a little trial and error initially to make sure they run concentrically, but are superb once they are running true.
The Xtreme Xtension will fit standard 1/2in routers, but the Eliminator is limited in the machines it will fit.
Ideally check with the supplier, WoodWorkers Workshop. 0845 165 9244

The Xtreme Xtension :D I cant thankyou enough for telling me about that at last years D&M show :D However i do feel the need to steer clear of Mr Andy King at any future woodworking show as his tip on the XX has led to many £ spent with wood workers workshop .
