I bought sole CS adhesive a few months back, Ive jsut found it and its STINKS of vinegar!!!

Is this normal, has it gone off, should i have stored it in a particular way?

Anybody used this stuff before?

WW,

Don't worry - all silicone sealers pong of vinegar (at least all the ones that I have ever come across do anyway).

It should be fine to use.

Regards

Taffy

Yes, it does need to be exposed to air for it to cure.

How long it takes is entirely dependant on which type you have got - it should say on the tube what the curing time is.

Note to self-read what it says on the tube before asking silly questions.

It says it cures in 12 hours.

Thanks

thats a man thing do it first then read the destructions when it wont work or fit :D :D 8)

A lot of sealants are now "acetic cure" so use acetic acid as part of the drying/curing process - so the smell is acetic acid (which is the same as vinegar)
