Cleaning a brace and bits

Hi Gabriele,
I have a blade with the effect you say, but the two range colors are visible on the bevel and if I polish the thickness blade I think I could see the two tones there.

I believe it is what Mike said. A laminated blade. I have one from a Stanley transitional plane. It was very difficult to flatten but it holds an edge for a very long time. The best blade I've run across.

BTW I have used lemon juice and it works very well. It smells funny afterwards though.
