Many thanks again Bob, having clicked the hyperlink you sent I have also registered with the a different place forum, can't believe I haven't come across it before.
Does it differ much from the UKWS forum?
BTW, just so I have it right, if I wire up the way you recommend, there will now be two cables with a plug each servicing the DC ( the original one and the new one to the coil ) Sorry for asking the obvious but can't be too carefull when it involves the lecky
