I have a Mitre Chop Saw, old but working from Wickes, i am cutting MDF on the saw but finding the cut is burning the wood a bit, now the blade may be a bit blunt but do you think it would help if i put some candle wax on the blade as that is what i do on my hand saw.
Thanks Reg

your blade must be crazy blunt for it to burn the wood! is it a struggle to cut through? (do you have to really lever down on the arm?)
i dont think candle wax will make much of a difference to be honest
buy a new blade or sharpen your current one

Hi,

If you have been cutting MDF your blade will need a clean and possibly sharpening.
I use Mr muscle window and glass cleaner and a brass brush.

Pete

If your blade is blunt, candle wax will do nothing to sharpen it!
Get a new blade. Doug Perry at Cutting Solutions of this parish will put you right.
