Not been doing this long, done some pleasing bowls, vases, sculptural pieces and a couple of small yew boxes with 'cheat' lids - cut down wine bottle cork as part of the lid.

I want to have a go at making a box properly. Some 9 months ago I got some 3" spindles, seemed well seasoned and have been in garage since. I have use-able lengths of:

Oak
Elm
Beech
Lime
Yew

I would rather use something that is satisfying for a first go rather than have to wrestle a piece of wood into submission. I think I've read that Elm moves a lot, although I like the grain when I've used it for other things. In my limited experience Yew can be brilliant or a complete pig.

Which would you start with?
