Might be of interest to some.
I noticed in Asda yesterday some granite chopping boards about 12" square and about 3/4" thick @ 9.99.
I had no method to test their flatness other than by placing one on top of the other and looking for gaps of which there were some that closed up when the two slabs were pushed together. Perhaps they could be stuck to a flat sustrate of thick ply of mdf for an economical flat surface?
