Does anybody have any experience of the charnwood nexus 3 jaws that fit other chucks? They're significantly cheaper than the genuine teknatool ones for my chuck - obviously theres a reason for that but has anyone tried them?

In my experience they are rubbish - very poorly finished and lacking a little in well designed gripping features. The fixing holes are not compatible with Sorby Patriot jaw screws as the Sorby screw head diameter is a fraction too great - now sorted by drilling oversize.
I can't stand them so now stick to Sorby or Record jaws.
The cole jaw buttons are small and pretty awful so I ended up making my own.

In the interests of fairness, having said the above, the jaws do work OK and grip well enough to do the job. I always feel that they won't close accurately to form a circle, although I think that's just the crude look of them.

I've not seen them but I'm not sure what can go wrong with them really? All makes seem to copy the same or very similar designs and the gripping power is surely down to the chuck itself. I suppose it depends how much cheaper they are than other brands.
