Hi - pls see the enc pic.
The chuck is inscribed 1.5-13mm Bried 1/2-20UNF
I've had the drill a few years, and it's always been good, especially for the price (Argos £9.95!).
Now the drill bit wobbles about 1/8" back and forth, though when it's actually in a hole it steadies.
The prob seems to be the bush on the right, either that or the shaft going through it.
I'd like to get the chuck off completely, but I'm not sure if it has a taper thing or a thread, or whether it would be male or female.
The drill is reversible, so the chuck probably doesn't have a thread?
Thanks,

You should find if you look into the jaws when fully open that there is a screw which needs to be taken out, it will be very tight and you may need to shock it, it may also be left hand threaded. Once the screw is removed the chuck can then be unscrewed from the shaft.

Ok, maybe I can knock the big cog off somehow, and get the bush off that way. Not sure what I'll be achieving though. It's crazy, imho, for a tool that's fine in every other respect to have to be thrown away because of (I think) a worn bush. Still, who knows, it might be a standard item. <Not very hopeful face>

What a hassle!
Tried to drill out that retaining screw, and because it was indeed a reverse thread, it eventually came out, without too much damage.
Bushing was well oversize. Made another one out of nylon. Seems ok so far..
