Hi all,

There are a number of times when I don't have access to an internet connection, but I would love to watch a woodworking video.

Am I able to copy the video to my PC for later viewing and is it legal?

If so, can anyone recommend some software?

Thanks,
Neil

you can. There are various freeware packages that do it. Wondershare is one of the better ones. They usually operate in free mode by placing a water mark over the content until you pay the £25 or whatever to upgrade to the premium version.

I've done a few and I don't mind the wondershare logo on the screen so I've never paid the cash and remained with the free version. However, I don't use it often because I'm almost always connected to wifi hence no need.

I've used savefrom.net and chosen to download an appropriate format from the options.

The fastest free YouTube Downloader

YouTube.com is the most popular video hosting resource and the third most popular website in the world. The success of this project owes to its convenience but the latter is limited when trying to download video from YouTube for free. Not every video can be saved using common methods.

SaveFrom.net presents the fastest ways to download videos from YouTube, providing the best quality of the videos saved from YouTube. Try it once and you will agree that this is the most convenient YouTube video downloader you ever used!

1st way:
being on YouTube.com simply add "ss" to the video URL in order to start the default YouTube downloader:
Code:
http://ssyoutube.com/watch?v=YOcmSsBfafg

If you use the firefox browser there's a free plugin you can get that lets you download any youtube video right off the watch page and store it on your computer as an mp4 file.

Other browsers may well have a plugin to do it too.

I use flashgot. whenever you are seeing something you want to keep just activate it and they all get stored where you set it up to do. needn't watch live feeds which for me are difficult as I live too far from a telephone exchange to have broadband, so save them in the background whilst doing something else.
