Hi,
As a "newbie" here, please bear with me.... have been doing a exhaustive search online, bookshops and library, for plans on making a wall mounted plate rack, nothing too fussy, type that holds 8 plate slots, where they slot in sideways as apposed to the flat against wall type? :?

Would like it to have a shelf at the top of it, and perhaps under it too, then either pegs or hooks for mugs, now for what I call the sizing

2ft high, x 45" width and to hold 8" to 10" plates, so I will let someone determine what depth this needs to be! :?:
Fortunately, my husband is pretty good and following plans or god only knows where i'd be...

Any help appreicated

alternatively take an existing simple idea and adapt it for your needs. for example

you can see roughly how its made, top bottom and middle shelves simply screwed through the sides. Make a similar item only deeper (for the size of your plates) and put long dowels from the middle shelf to the bottom shelf appropriately spaced to separate your plates. similar to the one in this thread
