Calling any Audacity users - help needed! - Now Solved

Hi

I've been using Audacity for some years now, not very much recently, but I've tried to record something this morning and am not having any success.

The problem is that the drop down box that gives me the option of the sound source (microphone, line-in, stereo mix etc) isn't givng me any options; the box is blank and the drop-down doesn't work.

I've used it in the past and it's been ok, what am I doing wrong?

It sounds as if your hardware drivers are not installed properly. In your System are they shown as all present and correct?

Hi Steve

thanks for that suggestion; I had a look around but couldn't see anything glaringly obvious, so I did a little more digging (I'd missed the broadcast I wanted to record so was able to spend a little more time on it) and it appears the problem was that I had a webcam plugged into the computer.
Don't ask me why that was a problem, but it was. Unplugging it cures everything.

At least I'll know next time!
