Currently doing some work for my brother who has his own construction firm. Refurbbing house, new elects, heating, plastering etc...
Asked me to build some wardrobes to customers own design and drawing! Customer is a GP Doctor, but must draw in her spare time;) oh and on V tight budget.

All made on site with 11 sheets of 18mm 8x4. 1x 6mm mdf 8x4. Loving my two new rails, 2700 and 800. So much more accurate using the 2700, wish I got it a long time ago.
Brothers decorator already carrying out prep work and will be painted next week. Thankfully not by me.

Cheers

James

They look impressive James considering they were built on site. How did you make the doors? Are they also made on site?

Cheated Alan! 18mm doors with 70mm rips of 6mm and mitre fix. Purely because of time and budget, never done it before but very fast. Just have to see how it holds up. I make my doors the same method as you normally. ;) cheers

You must have used a ton of mitre fix. Wouldn't pva have been a better idea ?

Those 2700 rails are good I've got one in my workshop

Used Mitre fix on the Stiles and Pva on the rails as they were locked in via the Stile, if catch my drift.
1 and half tubes of the mitre fix glue.
Really enjoyed making them, also used concealed Blum hinges for thicker doors.

Ok I'll try and explain as I've no pictures of this.

Mdf base on legs higher than the skirting board, i) to take lower ff and ii) take skirting board. Attached to adjustable legs.
Then it's a simple box, base/top and two sides no rear. Stand on top of base, tight to breast and 50mm away from other wall. Scribe in 50mm piece and attach to a return so it looks like an 'L' screw through side of wardrobe to attach. Same above wardrobe. Top box of wardrobe is separate box again. Another 'L' shape on breast side and then a return scribed back to breast. Doors are attached on to the carcass using full overlay concealed. I had the 'L' out past the carcass by 26mm. 18mm + 6mm doors + 2mm adjustment.

Hope this make sense, anyone who gets this and is more articulate than myself feel free to explain better.
