building wood locks

I am building a wood lock with a key and I am interesrted in gathering information about practicle plans and schematics. The library has been of little help. I was hoping for some suggestions. I would like to make a pad lock and a drawer lock.

hi DAMON. I am new to this forum as well.
As it happens i have just made a wooden lock myself, from a new book i have recently purchased.

have a look at MAKING WORKING WOODEN LOCKS, by TIM DETWEILER

I think this is a terrific book. The warded lock i made works really well, and the book has five different detailed plans in all

I dont know what use they are, but they sure are fun to make ,and play with
