I'm missing the discussions between Bugbear and Jacob, and comments from others aimed mostly at Jacob. I know it became a bit argumentative at times but I miss their words of wisdom and knowledge.

I think Jacob has just got fed up with all the poncey tool collectors.
also I think he has found a new hobby which does not entail winding up bb.
.

  all wrong so far

Spoke to him last week but don't expect to hear from him until September

Been off cycling, up the Rhine. Came back early - wife fell off in Cologne and broke a bone. I've recently been banned too - can't recall why.
Don't know what's happened to Bugbear. There's been a spate of knock-a-door-running around here lately - could be our man? I'll leave something out for him, a bit of pork pie perhaps.

Hope the wife recovers soon Jacob.

I wish I could still cycle, but even so I couldn't cope with the wrong side of the road!

Hope you good lady is on the road to recovery and no complications.

can i ask did you use a pedalo or just attach pontoons to your bike?

Hope the German health service were as good for your lady as they were when SWMBO slipped on a path in the Alps and tore various bits of knee. About 45 min in local hospital, X-rayed, fitted with splint and out, all for a princely 10Euros.
Good wishes for speedy recovery.

Thanks for the good wishes.
She's OK staggering around on German crutches - and they've got reflectors! German hosp was brilliant and all the Germans we met were very friendly and helpful. No charges at all we had our E111 cards.
Next year we start again where we left off (Cologne). We were just getting to the interesting bits.
