Hi, you might be interested in problems with the way Yahoo manages BT internet mail receipts, and the fact that you may not be getting all mails addressed to you regardless of the fact that they are not spam.

I have been having problems for some time with non delivered and returned mails intended for BTintenet recipients and some other government organizations that use the BTe-mail system.

After many communications with Yahoo/Uk yahoo/ireland yahoo/usa and going round in circles with technical responses that do nothing more than promise resolutions and return mails that do not materialize or get wrapped up in the same automated FAQ responses that ask you to fill in a repeat of the same report forms etc. etc. It goes on for pages>>>>including that you are probably a spammer and need to prove otherwise.

After some serious monitoring of our domain servers and gathering reports on mail delivery attempts a former BT employee who is having to resort to the use of Gmail with me because of non receipt or long delays (from hrs to days) of BTinternet mail has finally tracked down the cause.

It would appear that because the IP address of the family server hosts more than one domain (not an uncommon occurence for businesses) we are not liked by Yahoo (greylisted) and are subjected to jumping through extra hoops to be allowed to talk to them.

The bottom line is that all new mails would appear to be treated by yahoo as spam and it refuses delivery, it then awaits the re-transmission of the email before accepting it on the basis that spammers don't usually do this.

Unfortunately this little exercise in enforced traffic increase provides no guarantee that the system will eventually accept the mail possibly because of the increased traffic clogging up the system.

AND this has been known about for at least a year.
