I was going to recommend Zen. I know plenty of techie mates of mine who use them. They've got a good reputation.

I use Andrews and Arnold, who are also very good - http://aaisp.net/ - however that comes at a cost, they aren't cheap. They are a UK based company (fairly small) so you'll get to talk to the same few folk if you do have cause to ring them up.

I'd keep a record of the BT calls, write down times, durations and what happened on the call. Get the names of everyone you've spoken to. If you think they're being dodgy, complain to ofcom:

I did check out the Andrews and Arnold website but I've read so many positive remarks about Zen I decided to go with them. Well, when BT can be bothered to send through the MAC Code that is - they say it takes up to 5 working days.

I have been keeping note of the (many) calls to BT, but good advice anyway.

Maybe you could try a different approach, ask them when the contract started and work it out from there.

There is a cancellation period, so if you're quick you should be able to cancel it. It's stuff like that which makes me glad that my wife leaves all that sort of thing to me. Worst technical waste of time/money she's done was buying another USB converter for the car.
