Its time to upgrade my bandsaw.

At the moment I have an SIP 01489 14" which has been fine but at times I have wanted to resaw some timber that is deeper than 200mm.
The model that I have in mind is the Record Power BS400, Its the right price, has a good depth of cut and is the correct height to fit in my shed.
Is there any reason why I should not go down this route.
If you have a BS400 or you have used one, what are your views.

Hi Blister, I have looked at the N4400 and like it but the cost of it is a little high, unless you know where I can get one for under a grand

Give them a call ( sales department )

Tell them you are about to order a BS400 Record but was advised about the N4400 and that your budget is £1000 all in

its then up to them to loose a sale

only the cost of a call

What power supply do you have in your workshop ? as you will need 16amp

I have a BS500 which for the money is a good machine.

I have had it about 4 years now and it has done everything I have asked of it.

I only use it for cutting curves and resawing over 5 1/2" as I have a rip saw and a panel saw.

But as Blister said give Felder a ring as the prices the quote in their brochures are I am of the opinion made made by the printers and bare no relation to what you pay.
