Did anyone get to this? I set off down from Aberdeen this morning, but the rain and wind on the A90 made driving a nightmare, so chickened out with a coffee at Castleton and return home. What did I miss?

Was planning to but then found out it was school holidays so ended up away for the week.

There were quite a few turners, the Murlands Old Tool stall stocked high with many chisels and quite a few bench planes. Tormek had a presence, and im sure there were deals on Record machines though i wasnt really looking there. Plenty of wood on sale, including a plank of Ziricote thats been there for at least 6 years. Chattan Luthiery, producer of banjos, mandolins and acoustic guitars, and also a maker of wooden skis - really interesting chap and beautiful product if you're into skiing.

Oh, and yours truly grabbed first in the competition for my rocking chair....

Weather was less than optimal, but it seemed a good turnout on saturday at least.

Congratulations!
But "less than optimal" must be the understatement of the year............

Damn, totally forgot about it. Guess I'll have to go next year. We should meet up dickm and head through next year, I'll take the van and fill it with stuff before telling the wife it cost half what I spent
