I need to remove a kitchen worktop, which has been in place for 10years, so that I can replace it.
It has a mason's mitre joint and was sealed when fitted.
Whats the best way to break the joint.
Regards Keith

Look underneath, there will be butterfly bolts that hold the joint together. Undo these and the tops should come apart easily.

Undo the bolts and any other brackets /Screws that may be holding the work top to the units then give a good thump from underneath and it should break the glue/Silicone line.
In case of a stubborn one
Try and Place 2 bits of timber either side of the joint ( the higher the better) go to either end of the worktop and try springing/pushing it down and that usually works
