Does anyone know of where I could purchase thumb nuts like these:

All the google results I get are for main manufacturers or sales in the 1000's - I am only after a few!!
Any leads would be really appreciated.

Nowadays eBay is the place to go - it's well-stocked with people buying those bulk packs and splitting them up into retail quantities. A search for "thumb nuts" brings up plenty of options:
