Planning to put banksia slice inlay in the rim of a sycamore platter with brass powder + cyano in the holes (like article in Woodturning some time back) .

Does this mean I will have to use acrylic spray lacquer as a final finish to stop the brass oxidisng or will the superglue stop that so I can use an oil finish ?

I done a brass powder inlay with epoxy resin in a Walnut bowl years ago gave the whole thing a polish finish and it is as bright today as when I first done it

I often use brass powder to fill splits and holes in old wood and dribble it in with CA glue. never had a problem with oxidization yet. If you polish with some sort of wax that would no doubt help as well though I doubt it is necessary.
