Hi,

I own a Boxford floor standing drill, an 8-speed version. I wondered if anyone else here has one and knows how to dismantle the quill pinion? It isn't exactly obvious.

Just wanted to add an update: I figured out that the short lever on the left side, which had seemed locked to the depth dial is actually a locking mechanism for the depth dial which allows you to adjust how far the quill moves. It is on a LH thread and was very tight but as soon as I realised that I needed to undo it in the other direction, it has all come apart as needed.

This depth stop mechanism explains why my drill only seemed capable of drilling 80mm, so now I get the full travel.

The nice people at Boxford did send me a copy of the current manual which was very helpful.

regards

Colin
