I need a gas heater for the garage workshop area. Don't want to use electric as supply is limited, but also don't want anything too bulky. Any ideas?

Not sure if a floor, one or mounted on wall or ceiling would be best. and would like some help please.
Thanks

I've got a stainless Sealey space heater which I give a 20min blast into my workshop to take the chill off. It's quick but be aware that bottled gas heaters put out a lot of water so condensation and rust maybe a problem on your tools.

+1 on the Gas heater. They not only put a lot of moisture in the air but they give me a real nasty head ache unless you open the windows quite wide which rather defeats the object IMO.

Hi Alex, we use these heaters in campervans.
Takes in and heats the internal air with the burner using outside air and then exhausts externally.
Advantage of no moisture or gasses

Expensive, but retain their value on the resale market, especially around this time of year.
The one above will run on electric as well for the times you need to get a bottle exchanged

So are there differences between the various gasses used for heaters or are they all pretty similar?

Propane is better than Butane when it gets really cold below freezing, although that's probably only an issue if the gas bottle is kept outside.

I'd agree with that. Being into outdoor activities I know from experience that Butane isn't much use in very cold weather, many a night I've spent with a gas bottle in my sleeping bag!

I'd also suggest that a Carbon Monoxide alarm for £20 would be a very sensible purchase with any form of heating that gives off gases ie. Wood burning stove or gas heater. Especially if you close the door in your workshop.

Propane gives off more heat than Butane but it depends what the device is designed to run on.
