Hello,

I'm thinking of getting an air compressor for nailing and will probably be going with a 50l Bostitch compressor. My main worry now is noise, 94 db seems pretty noisy.

How long , roughly does a 50l tank take to fill/ motor on and how many finish nails could I fire , for instance , on a full 50L tank , before the motor kicks in, and how long would it stay on for when it kicks in?

I'm wondering could I fill the tank during the day and then use the air in the evening when noise would be an issue?

Thanks

It it's anything like my 50l compressor it will frighten the living daylights out of you when it kicks on.

94db is really loud

A 25l compressor will cope with pretty much any nailer.

If it's just a brad nailer/ stapler you will be using you can go for something much smaller.

Oil lubricated compressors tend to be quieter

When i had my compressor (25ltr). From empty it took a couple of minutes or there abouts. I never really timed it. Then once it needed topping up it used to be on for about a minute - ish.

Mine was a 1.5hp 25ltr clarke. I used it for bits of spraying. Mainly with nail guns, ranging from brad/ 2nd fix ( 15 guage ) and my mighty coil framing nailer. It coped with them all, it may not have been the correct one to use. However it did cope, it just probably filled the tank up more.
