hi all,

seen a few threads n what people got so ill share mine.
i didnt get to go to the stanley auction :( but i did get to check out a booty.

anyways i was having a look around as saw a pile of rusty junk on a table so me being me i dived in and came out with 3 footprint chisels a screwdriver (London pattern), a square and a ridge way bit.
cost me a massive £3

the chisels where in a bad way. rusty, chipped paint (black and yellow), blunt and next to dead, but on the plus side they where straight and with a bit of elbow grease not bad tools for general use.

stripped paint, cleaned, honed and oiled :) done
i should of done a before pic but i forgot sorry. now they are tucked up in bed

I don't believe I have ever bought a chisel that has not come from a bootfair and I must have hundreds...some fettled some not.

I have some real beauties which knock spots off even the highest priced "modern" alternatives...which makes me smile and warm inside!

My favourites:

HA! indeed TT...some tools are irresistable!

I picked those up at a bootfair and for the life of me I can't remember how much they were...a tenner I think.

I keep them inside in the winter....I'm not that daft!

But it just goes to show what you can get in a field on a cold autumn morning!

I agree, some of ye things I've got a these booty some would struggle to find, and they are dirt cheap, I'm not one to just talk about the wins like a gambler because I've been to a few a got nothing but junk just because I can go home empty handed.
Hit and miss that's the fun tho I guess never know what at the bottom of the rusty tool pile. Hopefully a holtey :)
