I'm going to be building a bookcase for a customer and I can't decide if it needs to be fixed to a seperate base or not. Here's a drawing
It'll be free standing, overall dimensions 2 x 2.1 metres x 300mm deep built in 24mm blockboard or ply, with cornice and plinth. It'll be built as 3 seperate units to be fixed on site, as the budget's a bit tight I'd like to build it without a seperate base but this might be a bit risky if the carpeted floor's not level. What do you think?
