My step daughter's partner is currently working for a landscape gardening company and really enjoying the timber construction side of things, pergolas, gazebos etc., his birthday is coming up next month and she was looking for book recommendations for a present, if anyone has any for these sort of constructions. I've had a look round on the internet but not seen anything that focuses on construction techniques and the like, seen some on timber frame buildings which I suppose he could apply some of the techniques from that. Any help much appreciated.

He might find he's a bit more advanced than the above two books?

I have the first one which is great but 50% are quite simple projects.

Perhaps a timber framing book or garden landscape features in wood book?

I find the Thompson local directory quite useful if one of the legs I have cut is a bit short, and it comes in a handy plastic bag making it more durable than anything I have built given the current wind conditions.
