something slightly different again

after advice from members of the 'hand tools' section, I opted for these 'very english' woods to complete this piece - which is heading overseas from an English association.

just hope it all stays together!

Very impressive looking , well turned and finished , wherever it's going it is sure to be well recieved .Very nice piece.

was a tough call as to whether to fill all the grain on the oak, or leave it; went with the latter but still not sure if it was the right thing

the simple answer is both!

I wish I had photographed the underside of the striking plate - the boxwood is hollowed and the oak forms a soundbox....

It's heading to Harare (apparently)
