Visiting America and I've noticed blum style hinges installed on narrow face frames - fixing holes are nearer the front.

I use hinges in that position all the time, but I've had to fix a batten to rear of the face frame to give enough depth to fix the standard hinges, so now I've seen these I'm wondering are these available in UK? Didn't notice them in the Hafele catalogue.

Surely someone sells them for this purpose - it can't be that unusual!

But thanks for those links jasonB they are helpful and I think I need to start using woodfit.

The ones you linked to are different, they'd require a lot of overlap between door and frame. I want ones that fix on the inside edge of the frame. It's actually just the mounting plate that needs to be specialised.

HPP have told me they could order them from blum, but only in batches of 500.

The photos you linked to jason - how did you make and paint those doors?

Same way I make most of my MDF doors. Groove teh styles & rails and also the ends of the rails and use loose tongues made from teh same panel material.

For the glazed panels just run through the spindle again to remove one side of the groove so you have a rebate.

Painted 2 coats Dulux QD primer/undercoat and two coats Dulux Eggshell applied with brush & foam roller layed off with brush.
