Hello everyone

Attached is a picture of the riving knife on my table saw. Can anyone explain the various numbers?

I have a new Freud blade which is 1.8mm body and 2.4mm kerf. Will it work ok.

I searched here and found a similar post in November but it didn’t quite answer this question.

All the best.

Jim.

as a general rule, less than the kerf size (tips) by a few 0.1's, but bigger than the main blade material thickness.
This is what I work on, others may know better.

Bob's right. Ignore the marking on the knife just measure its thickness instead and follow the above guidelines.

The tips have to cut a kerf wider than the knife otherwise is will jam in the cut and if the timber springs you want the knife to limit the gap to more than the blade body.
