Help please. I am trying to make a tray where the sides are angled out and the corners are dovetailed. I belive this is sometimes called a hopper joint. I have managed the joint where one sided is bevelled and the other upright but cant get my head round both sides of the joint leaning out. I have descriptions of the marking out in a couple of books but they haven't clicked with me.
Does anyone have any advice or references to texts that worked for them.

If memory serves, the 'Techniques of Furniture Making' shows how to set these out, but they're not easy - Rob

What a wonderful forum this is!

I was thinking about making a "reversed" Butler's Tray arrangement, something with a fixed tray on a folding stand instead of a folding tray on a fixed stand, and I was struggling over how to construct the double angled dovetails...and then along comes Mr Chapman with the precise solution!
