Hello All,

It me again!

I have progressed well with wooden box and am almost ready to launch. I have bought of the shelf - 50 no. boxes as a test run.

I would like your advice. A suggestion was made to get a shop to cut the blanks and I assemble at home. Perhaps in batches of say 250. The material is 9mm pine, no finish. Two boxes (1) 400 x 120 x 120 and (2) 115 x 115 x 120.

What are your suggestions on the best way to get these produced. Do it as noted above - Blanks cut? Get a shop to build to finished product? Get 9mm lengths and cut / build myself.

What to you think best way forward is??

Many thanks for your thoughts.

Thomas

Get quotes for 9mm lengths, blanks and assembled boxes. Then decide if you can (and are willing) to produce the boxes yourself from lengths or blanks at the same price as you can buy assembled boxes.

The more of the work you can bring in house, the lower your costs will be. A workshop will still need to charge for labour and put a profit margin on top
