Hello,

I have recently moved back to London after living in NYC where I was working as a furniture maker for 3 years. I am hoping to find a shared space where I can set out on my own. I live in North London around the N13 area. If anyone has any tips or knows of anyone renting out some bench space (or a dark corner) I would be really grateful. I would be making small to medium sized cabinets and coffee tables for the most part and should have a considerably small footprint in the shop.

Cheers,

Sidrick

couple of places worth trying, for proximity to good places for tools/materials, and, proximity to an increasing demographic likely to buy handmade furniture:

Hoxton: the arches directly under the track running through Hoxton Station, plus the immediate surrounding area have trades and artists.
Walthamstow: very gentrified now - you wouldn't believe the change in the last 3 years since you've been in NYC. Or, if you needed a more industrial type place (although not as nice as in town) the industrial parks in Leyton and Chingford near crooked billet roundabout might be good at the moment.

Let me know how you get on - would be interested to see what area you pick ...
