(I thought I posted this earlier today but there's no sign of it on the forum, so here goes again...)
I'm looking for a small, light belt-sander that will allow me to shape curves on a circular staircase I'm making out of oak. I did have a Bosch model which was good before it burnt out, and it's now discontinued. My Triton model is just too big and heavy to control. I've tried every other sort of electric sander but they're not aggressive enough, and discs are too aggressive. I need the flat and wide plate of the belt sander to help keep the wood surfaces level - smaller sanding faces tend to want to gouge the surface.
Thanks!

The Bosch PBS 75 is still available and a very good tool. I have had one for about 20 years and is still as good as when I bought it, sometimes one has to replace the belt drive. It is useful clamped upside down in a vice. Very good tool, still available, about £80.
Regards
